Chris Coleman grew up in Houston and attended Houston public schools. He attended University of Texas at Austin and University of Houston before entering University of Texas at Houston Dental Branch graduating with a D.D.S. in 1987.
Dr. Coleman practiced as a general dentist for 5 years in the Bay Area before entering his residency at UT in Endodontics from 1992-1994. Upon graduation as an endodontist with a Masters degree he joined Dr. Steve Magers, Jr. to practice endodontics in the Clear Lake area and has maintained a practice since then. Dr. Coleman was also appointed to the faculty at the University of Texas Dental Branch where he taught undergraduate and graduate endodontics for 16 years.
Dr. Coleman became board-certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 2001. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and was a past president of the Ninth District Dental Society, the Houston Academy of Endodontists, and the Bay Area Study Club. He has published two articles in the Journal of Endodontics and occasionally lectures. He has also served as an editor for scientific articles from the Journal of Endodontics and the Texas Dental Journal.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys the outdoors and sports, especially basketball. He was inducted into the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Hall of Fame in 2009 for basketball.
